Tucked away on 100 acres in the piney woods of Montgomery, Texas, Camp Lantern Creek is a unique girls sleep away summer camp that was created so girls can find their voices, create their art, try new things, take risks, be cheered on whether they succeed or fail, get dirty, push boundaries, love nature and so much more. We’ve thrown out the traditional rules for what summer camp should be and developed unexpected, wide-ranging activities with a common theme: fostering creative thinking and self-confidence in girls. Some of these activities include our one-of-a-kind Rosie Riveters, where girls learn to change a tire, build a fire, use a drill and so much more; Singers, Spot Light and Stage Crew, where campers take part in a cappella style singing, drama and theater, set-building, prop and costume-making and more; Steppers, where campers learn choreographed dance routines to today’s hottest tunes; our athletics Sporty Girl offerings including basketball, volleyball, soccer and gaga; our Studio 1, Knit Whits and Hello Dolly arts and crafts, doll-making and knitting classes; plus canoeing, archery, swimming, ropes course and more!
High-school aged campers gain real-world leadership skills through our four-year Leadership Program, in addition to taking part in their favorite camp activities. Our program has been well received on college resumes and the skills acquired will help all participants excel in many other settings during the school year from extracurricular clubs to community service groups. The skills they gain also greatly add to our camp culture, as they mentor and interact with all of our campers throughout each session.
At Camp Lantern Creek, we proudly empower campers, helping to develop their self-esteem, emotional resilience, confidence and leadership skills, all while they build lasting friendships. Our campers, and their parents, become members of our Camp Lantern Creek community for a lifetime and we are so proud of the women each have become or will become in the future. We hope to see your daughter here soon!
