School is out for the summer, but your child’s development continues.

Why not fill their free time with art because as Einstein said,

“Imagination is more important than knowledge”.

Help the artist in your child blossom and grow at the most unique Summer Art Camp in the Austin area.  Sponsored by the Bee Cave Arts Foundation this 5th annual camp will be held in the Old Schoolhouse in Bee Cave across from the Bee Cave Sculpture Park at 13333 W. Hwy 71, near RR620 and W. Hwy71, where students can engage with and be inspired by the amazing sculptural forms on display.

Kids between the ages of 5 and 11 years old are invited to experience fun and challenging hands-on art experiences through an exploration of a variety of art materials during their week long session. Focus will be on the development of creative thinking and problem solving skills through experimentation in multiple art processes. Age appropriate lessons in drawing, painting, 2D Design, and 3D sculpture, have been developed by art teachers just for this camp.   A community exhibit featuring the original individual artworks created will be on display afterwards.

Campers may choose from one of two 1/2 day sessions (choose either 9AM to noon or 1PM to 4PM) OR they may sign up for a full day one week session (9AM to 4PM).  Dates are June 15-19 and June 22-26.  Class sizes are small to facilitate the most productive learning environment so space is limited.  Early registration is the best way to secure a spot for your child. Cost for the five day session is $180 and includes art supplies and snacks for the week.

Bee Cave Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life in the community and enhance the experience of visitors by bringing awareness, education and integration of a wide range of art throughout public spaces.  All proceeds from the Kids Summer Art Camp will be used to fund its community projects such as the LTISD Student Art Shows, Artist in Education, Benches of Bee Cave, the Bee Cave Sculpture Park and future phases of it including: creating a community performance and education pavilion, children’s play area, deck over the park pond, additional sculpture areas, and continuation of walking paths nearby. Camp registration forms and further information can be found at beecavearts.org.
