Camp Stewart is building on its 98 consecutive summers, making Camp Stewart for Boys the oldest continually operated camp in the Southwest. Established in 1924 and located on the banks of the sparkling Guadalupe River’s North Fork in Hunt, Texas, Camp Stewart is a historic part of the gorgeous Hill Country. Owned and operated for 50 years by the Ragsdale Family, Camp Stewart boasts quality, traditional camping while offering home-cooked cuisine and outstanding facilities.

Stewart builds on intangibles—self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, individual identity, and meeting challenges. Stewart has a unique Advancement Trail to reward incentives and individual accomplishment.

Senior campers choose a “major”: ranchman, outdoorsman, sportsman, or campmaster, and specialize in that aspect of camp. Younger boys are guided through more than 50 activities that are instruction-oriented with excitement and accomplishment in mind. Activities include archery, arts and crafts, baseball, basketball, canoeing, campcraft, fencing, football, gaga, golf, hiking, horseback (English and Western), kickball, outdoor cooking, pickleball, polocrosse, riflery, soccer, sports, tennis, swimming, ceramics, leather work, climbing wall, pedal carts and so much more!

Camp Stewart is an all-boys camp. However, our sister camp, Heart O’ the Hills for Girls, is located only seven miles away and is run by Jane Ragsdale. It is located four miles up the “South Fork” of the Guadalupe River and has the same dates and rates. Call today to see what USA Today called one of the Top Ten Camps in the USA!
