On May 20, 800 students ran in the Boosterthon Fun Run at Murchison Elementary. The fun run was the culminating event of a nine-day program themed “Big World Recess,” in which students learned character through sports in other cultures.
During the program, students experienced how sports bring people together. Documentary-style videos taught students how to develop teamwork, curiosity, humility, confidence and endurance through the everyday stories of six kid-athletes from around the world.
The event raised more than $25,000, which will be used to enhance the teacher classrooms and PTO programs and to purchase iPads and an electronic marquee for the school.
