The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center‘s popular tree event, Tree Talk Winter Walk, returns Jan. 23 with expert talks, kids’ activities and more. The center says Texas has more oak species than any other state, and this day is a chance to celebrate these and other native trees.
Kids can scale trees with expert arborists, build secret shelters with branches and other tree parts, roast marshmallows, take a scavenger hunt about trees and more. Adults can enjoy expert-guided walks and peruse over 70 types of Central Texas trees and shrubs for sale.
All activities are free with regular center admission. Events run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the Wildflower Center website for more information.
