A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU) and University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) have donated $500,000 to bring the RAISEup Texas program to more middle schools in Central Texas.

RAISEup Texas, a program of E3 Alliance, is a targeted, whole-school approach to improving student achievement. Every teacher in every subject uses research-validated tools to help all students “learn how to learn” and think critically to meet the standards for college- and career-readiness.

Six local middle schools have already implemented the model in Austin, Eanes, Hays, Leander, Round Rock and San Marcos school districts.

Now 16 more Central Texas middle schools will join the program over a five-year expansion plan to include schools in the Austin, Del Valle, Elgin, Hutto, Lockhart and Round Rock school districts. With its expansion, the RAISEup Texas program will eventually reach 28,000 students.

Austin ISD Superintendent Paul Cruz said, “Middle school can be one of the most challenging periods in a student’s personal and educational development. With AISD’s tightly constrained budget realities, we can only afford to invest in programs with proven success. We are investing in RAISEup Texas for our target middle schools because we know it works—for students and for schools.”
