Austinites are about to say “hello to yellow” on August 8, when 10,000 rubber ducks take to the shores of Lady Bird Lake for the Austin Boys and Girls Club Foundation’s second annual Duck Derby! Proceeds will help more than 12,000 Austin-area children and adolescents – many of whom come from limited resources – grow into healthy, responsible and caring young adults.

“Last year’s Duck Derby allowed us to raise more than $150,000, which in turn benefits Austin-area Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Gina Hill, event director. “With support from the Duck Derby, the Foundation will build a sustainable funding source so Boys & Girls Club members can continue to experience 15 percent higher overall GPA averages and 87 percent fewer absences than non-member peers.”

The Austin Boys and Girls Club Foundation supports and provides assistance to the 23 clubs operated by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin area.
