A new Austin-based, online platform combines family meal prep with global education. Cooking Up Cultures (CUC) launched on Jan. 1 and provides monthly online learning through parent-child cultural cooking and language lessons.

CUC aims to bridge cultural communities through lesson kits inspired by global foods. Families have access to language lessons, cultural insights and corresponding recipes in English, French, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin) and Arabic.

Founder and CEO Casey Smith says, “We are in an exciting time right now where communities are getting more and more diverse, but we don’t know much about each other’s cultures. The whole point of Cooking Up Cultures is to experience our diverse communities through something easily identifiable–cooking and eating. Plus, it’s fun doing something new as a family.”
