Halloween decorating doesn’t have to be complicated to make a big impression. With a handful of orange balloons and a few crafty supplies, you can turn an ordinary wall, mantel, or doorway into a pumpkin patch with serious boo appeal!

What You’ll Need

  • 12-inch orange balloons
  • Black construction paper, removable vinyl, or a black permanent marker
  • Brown or green pipe cleaners
  • Twine, string, ribbon, or yarn
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue
  • Jack-o’-lantern face template, optional

How to Make It

  1. Draw, trace, and cut out silly faces. Younger crafters can use a template.

  1. Inflate the balloons, filling them halfway for smaller pumpkins. Add faces with tape, glue, or a marker. If using a marker, draw the faces after inflating the balloons.

  1. Wrap a small piece of pipe cleaner around each balloon’s base, then use it to attach the balloon to your string. Repeat until your garland is the perfect length.

Hang your pumpkin parade above the mantel, across a doorway, or wherever your home needs a little Halloween magic. Then sit back and enjoy your handiwork. No tricks required!
