An Evening Under the Stars is an inclusive dance for teenagers of all abilities, organized by Spark Learning. The event takes place Feb. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 4001 Speedway Dr. in Austin. This is a sensory-friendly dance for teenagers with special needs, and their neurotypical peers. Volunteer ABA therapists from Spark Learning will be there to facilitate conversation, help with socialization, and encourage all participants to dance! Tickets are $20 and include pizza, chips, cookies, drinks, a photo booth with props, professional pictures, the opportunity to meet new people and make friends, and lots of dancing! Teens can come early to get ready together, with the option to have hair and makeup done by a “glam squad,” which is included in the ticket price. Parents are encouraged to drop their children off and enjoy a night out on the town while their teens have fun! RSVP to Erin Roe at erin@spark-learning.com or call the Spark Learning office at 512-900-1425. Spark Learning provides Applied Behavior Analysis and Speech Therapy to children and teenagers with autism and other developmental delays to help develop language, behavior, and social skills using a natural play-based approach.
