Did you get new shoes for the new school year? Here are some fun and creative ways to get crafty with an empty shoebox! The possibilities are limitless when it comes to craft ideas incorporating a shoebox, especially a kid-size box. From bug houses to doll beds, a shoebox can always be reused!

Use photos of friends and family events or cut out pretty photos from a magazine. Using tape or glue, attach the photo to the middle of the shoebox, facing out. Then with any materials you want, decorate around the photo. Hang little cutout stars or flowers, construct a tiny paper-and-string swing or put some rocks or sand on the bottom. Now you have a unique and adorable photo box. This makes a great low-cost gift as well!

Using rope, tape and little a creativity, you can convert your box into a little carriage case.

Shoebox-creationTape the lids of two shoeboxes shut, so that you have two enclosed boxes. Using scissors, cut a diamond or cross into each box toward one end of the top and fold in the cardboard so that there is an opening for your foot. Decorate the boxes with paper, paint or even fuzzy cloth. Then stomp around like a monster!
