theartgarageaustin pix 3Summer art camp is hands-down the most creative and fulfilling 11 weeks of our whole year at The Art Garage Austin.  Our staff grows during these months to include two more certified and degreed art teachers, our classrooms are filled with a wonderfully diverse group of students excited to learn and create, and our focus is on pouring our love for art and our passion for teaching into the lives of the kiddos we get to spend the summer with. Below are our 2015 Summer Camps:

June Art Camps

Art camp runs Monday – Friday, 10am – 2pm with additional care available from 9-10am and 2-6pm.  Early & Aftercare is just $5 per hour per child, and includes crafts, games, and movies that are in line with the week’s themes.

June 8 – 12

Frozen Art Camp (ages 6-10)

Do you want to build a snow man?!   Of course we will, and we will make glass fusion snowflake sun-catchers, paint our own pottery princess, and paint a frozen fractal canvas.  We will tie-dye snowflake t-shirts, create a self-portrait snow angel collage and more!  (cost $239)

Ninja Turtle Art Camp (ages 6-12)

Learn all about four artists from the Renaissance: Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael!  We’ll create art in their styles, making our own paintings, portraits and inventions!  Students will also enjoy learning to draw ninja turtles, creating a ninja turtle glass fusion sun-catcher and tie-dying a ninja turtle T-shirt!  Lastly, we’ll paint an awesome ceramic pizza plate!  (Cost $239)

Slumber Party Art Camp (ages 9-13)

Campers will create glass fusion night lights, tie-dye pillow cases, and paint a BFF mug using a really cool technique.  We’ll design and make jewelry, draw, paint canvas and create lots of slumber party inspired art! Grab your BFF and sign up quick; space is limited! (cost $239)

June 15 – 19  It’s ZOO Week at The Art Garage!

Zoo Art Camp (ages 5-7)

It is Zoo Week!  …animal fun all week long!  We’ll draw zoo animals, sculpt clay animals, create animal masks and so much more!  Campers can expect to paint pottery and canvas, and tie-dye T-shirts, too.  (cost $239)

Safari Art Camp (ages 7 – 9)

Safari-goers will learn about the art and animals of Africa!  They will create African masks, mud cloths, weavings and more.  Campers can also expect to tie-dye, paint pottery, paint canvas and more!  (cost $239)

Animal Planet 1 (ages 9-13)

Kids in this camp will be inspired by animals and art from all over the world. We will explore many art mediums, including clay sculpture, acrylics on canvas, painting pottery, chalk pastels and water color.  Students can also expect to tie-dye and create with glass fusion. ($239)

June 22 – 26

Art Around the World 1 (ages 5-8)

Campers will travel the globe to learn about the art and artists from a new country each day!  This week we will travel to Australia,   Japan, Ghana, France and Mexico.  Young artists can expect to work with clay, paint pottery, tie-dye t-shirts and so much more! (cost: $239)

Japan-i-mania  (ages 8-12)

We’ll try origami, shibori tie-dye, and silk painting!  Learn about the Japanese culture and paint a ceramic “Maneki Neko” (beckoning cat).  Young artists can expect to experience print-making and painting, too.  (cost: $239)

Down Under Art Camp  (ages 8-13)

We’ll go down under and explore the art of Australia!  We’ll create Aboriginal bark paintings and rock paintings.  We’ll also draw the animals of Australia, paint sailboats, tie-dye Ts and more!  Sign up soon, mate!

June 29 – July 3

Fairytales Art Camp  (ages 5 -7)

Bugs Art Camp (ages 5-7)

This art camp will be inspired by all kinds of crawling, buzzing, wiggly, and awesome bugs!  We’ll sculpt our own bugs out of clay, create giant symmetrical bug drawings, and catch a collection of bugs in a collage jar.  Campers will also tie-dye, paint pottery, create a canvas painting and more.     (cost $239)

Nature Art Camp (ages 7-9)

Create a bird-feeder, paint a wildflower watercolors, make a flower impressions vase, and construct a clay and glass wind chime.  In this camp, we will tie-dye, work with glass fusion, clay, paint and more.  All projects will be inspired by nature and up-cycling. (cost $239)

Animal Planet 2 (ages 9-13)

July 13 – 17

Pony Power (6-10)

We will celebrate our favorite My Little Pony each day, and we are going to keep all these projects a Pinkie Pie SURPRISE!!  Trust us, if your kiddo loves MLP, this camp is going to be awesome for them!  Projects will be inspired by the “Pony of the Day,” and will include painting pottery, glass fusion, drawing, painting, tie-dye and more!  (cost: $239)

Minecraft Art Camp 1 (6-10)

All the artwork in this camp will be inspired by your kid’s favorite video game!  We’ll create Minecraft biome murals, paint Creeper pottery, make pixilated glass fusion sun catchers and more. Campers can expect to tie-dye t-shirts, draw and paint, too. (cost: $239)

Comics and Graphics Art Camp (9-13)

Keep a sketchbook and create your own comics.  Learn about the history of comics and Pop Art artists, like Roy Lichtenstein; create a canvas in his style.  Get creative and design a cartoon drawing on a custom tie-dyed shirt.  Draw a graphic novel page for your favorite book, learn about the beginnings of animation, make your own clay portrait tile! (cost $239)

July 20 – 24  SPACE Week at The Art Garage!

Space Art Camp (5-7)

This art camp is gonna be outta this world!  Projects include a rocket pottery bank, clay star and moon magnets and galaxy dough sculptures.  We’ll dye outer space tie-dye T-shirts, draw rocketships and more!  We’ll finish the week with a glow-in-the-dark painting party!  (cost: $239)

Alien Encounter Art Camp (7-9)

We’ll sculpt alien bobble heads out of clay, paint a space-scape on canvas, paint a ceramic star box.  Campers can also expect to draw, paint and tie-dye galaxy t-shirts!  We will finish off the week with a glow-in-the-dark painting party!  Blast off and join us!  (cost: $239)

Starlight Art Camp (9-13)

In this art camp we’ll take our inspiration from the stars!  Will make a star and moon mobile from clay and create glass fusion constellations.  We’ll paint ceramic galaxy plates with a shooting star, tie-dye shirts and paint a space-scape on canvas, too.  (cost $239)

July 27 – 31

Candyland Art Camp 1 (5-7)

Inspired by sweets, treats and the old favorite, Candyland, board game.  Draw landscapes made of candy, like lollipop woods, sculpt cupcakes from clay, paint ice cream cones on canvas, tie-dye T-shirts and more!  The last day we will create REAL candy sculptures.  Art has never been so tasty!  (cost: $239)

POP Art Camp 1 (7-9)

Be inspired by Pop Art and the artists from this awesome art movement! We’ll create art in the style of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Jim Dine.  Campers will enjoy sculpting with clay, painting pottery, painting canvas, fusing glass and tie-dying, too.  (cost $239)

Austin Hipster Art Camp 1 (9-13)

Paint a beautiful canvas of the Austin skyline, create a cool fused glass bicycle tile, paint your own mustache, and tie-dye t-shirts.  We’ll also create bottlecap necklaces, paint our own mini Austin art-guitars and feature Austin’s graffiti art on a ceramic plate or bowl.  This camp is for those so hip, they can’t possibly be hipsters!

In Color Art Camp (8-13)

Learn about contemporary artists and their use of color in this super-fun art camp.  Young artists will work with glass fusion, sculpt with clay, paint canvas, paint pottery and more.  (cost $239)

 

Minecraft Art Camp 2 (ages 6-12)

Shark Week Art Camp (ages 7-10)

It’s Shark Week Art Camp!  We’ll be inspired by the ocean for all our art.  Learn how to draw different shark species, paint shark pottery and make a shark tooth necklace.  Campers can also expect to tie-dye t-shirts, creat with glass fusion and more! (cost $239)

Endless Summer Art Camp (ages 8-13)

This art camp will be inspired by the ocean and all things Summer!  Campers will create a fused glass beach scene, paint surfboards on canvas, tie-dye T-shirts and paint summer-themed pottery. Campers can also enjoy sculpting with clay and much more.  Hang loose and join us! (cost $239)

August 17 – 21
