On Jan.22, UT Austin’s Environmental Science Institute (ESI) celebrates its 100th Hot Science – Cool Talk, an event that brings leading scientists and their research to the community. Hot Science – Cool Talks are more than lectures; they feature engaging activities for multiple age groups and professional development opportunities for teachers.

At the 100th talk, Julia Clarke and other scientists will discuss the evolution of dinosaurs and birds. A pre-lecture interactive Community Science Fair will include special hands-on activities.

The events feature various STEM topics, attract hundreds of attendees each time, and are held six times each academic year. All Hot Science – Cool Talks are free and open to the public, but the 100th celebration requires advance registration and is currently full. That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the action!

View a live stream of the event at this Austin ISD website. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
