Austin’s youth took education into their own hands January 19 at the 7th Annual Jam Fest. Band Aid School of Music owner James Mays organized the benefit for the Eanes Education Foundation.
“These young people raised over $6,000 for teachers’ salaries in Austin and showed the 800 audience members how we rock in the live music capital of the world,” Mays reports. “Band Aid is built on great music education and serving our community, so it’s a perfect event for our bands to [support.] To us, it’s an honor to help our next generation of artist evolve, emerge and learn to pay it forward.”
The 2014 Jam Fest line-up included: The Others, Austin Burns, Black Apples, Bluster, In the Open, Tech 12, Gypsy, Room 24, Blue Tounge, More Than Ghosts, Empire and special guests Painted Redstarts.
