Diabetes is a growing concern in the San Marcos community, and two San Marcos-based organizations plan to help those with the disease to get off to a healthy start in 2016 by offering classes in Spanish.
The five-week diabetes education series will take place Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. starting Jan. 12 at the Live Oak Health Partners (LOHP) Community Clinic, 401A Broadway St., San Marcos. The classes are designated for patients of the clinic and will be taught in Spanish by an educator from Central Texas Medical Center.
An incentive will be given to patients that attend all five classes. When all five classes are complete, there will be a follow-up program provided at the clinic.
If you have been a patient at the LOHP Community Clinic and would like to register for the classes, please call (512) 805-5652, or stop by the clinic in person.
