The Austin Diaper Bank – in partnership with BB&T, Stepping Stone School and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts – is aiming to collect 100,000 diapers for Central Texas babies and senior citizens during The Great Central Texas Diaper Round-Up. During October, all BB&T Bank and Stepping Stone School locations in the greater Austin area will accept diaper donations.
The event Diapers for Doughnuts will cap the collection on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. During Diapers for Doughnuts, both Austin locations of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will give customers six free doughnuts for each box of diapers or monetary donation to the Austin Diaper Bank.
The Austin Diaper Bank states that its goal of collecting 100,000 diapers will serve 2,000 needy children who face a monthly shortfall of 50 diapers they need to ensure they stay dry and healthy.
