Hermann Sons Youth Camp, established in 1954, is available to members ages nine through thirteen, as of September 1. Becoming a member is as easy as purchasing a life insurance product through Hermann Sons. Camp applications are mailed to eligible members during the second week of March. Camp is located near Comfort in the scenic Texas Hill Country.
Campers choose from eight summer sessions at our Riverside Camp for girls or Hilltop Camp for boys. The two sites are separated by only one mile. During their six-day adventure, campers participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities under the caring guidance of our trained staff. The fee for the one-week session is only $200, a great fraternal benefit for our members.
The first session is June 15-21, 2014. We run for eight consecutive weeks. The last session is August 3-9. Open House will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Families can attend Open House and come and go as they please – a reservation does not need to be made. While at Camp, participants can take tours, meet Camp staff, eat lunch, visit the climbing wall, swim, make a craft project, and try other activities. Children can even bring their friends!
Hermann Sons Youth Camp is an accredited camp of the American Camp Association. ACA Camps are committed to the highest standards established for the camping industry. Although there are many state and federal laws and regulations that address basic safety concerns, ACA standards go a step further in addressing specific areas of the camp program. ACA camps have met or exceeded standards evaluating camp’s site and food service, transportation, health and wellness, operational management, human resources, program design and activities, aquatics, and other professional practices.
