Mardi Gras… with dogs? Oui, oui! On Sat., Feb. 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. join other party-goers and dog lovers for the 5th Annual Mardi Gras Dog Parade— a free, family-friendly event hosted by ABGB located at 1305 W. Oltorf St. Doll up your pups to be eligible for the “best dressed” contest. Judges will be walking around all day, so come dressed to impress and don’t forget to “bark for beads!” This year’s event will be raising funds and awareness for Pug Rescue Austin which will have pugs on hand available for adoption!
The parade kicks off at 4 p.m. and all dogs and people are eligible to participate. Get creative and show up with floats and krewes. The parade will take place in the ABGB parking lot, making one big, fun lap following a Second Line marching band. Enjoy great Mardi Gras-inspired fare including gumbo, andouille, and King Cake!
