Hays County Food Bank needs your unwanted and unneeded keys to help feed the hungry. Instead of letting those old keys get lost and lay useless in forgotten drawers, why not put them to a more charitable use?

Melissa Pursely of San Marcos discovered some unneeded keys in her own home, and she wanted to use the pieces of metal for good. She found a way through the Key for Hope Foundation, a nonprofit organization located in Massachusetts. They help hunger fighting organizations across the nation by recycling old and/or unused keys.

Bring your keys to the Hays County Food Bank office at 220 Herndon Street in San Marcos. The key drive lasts from July 16 to August 31. Pursely will take the keys to Green Guy Recycling in San Marcos in order to sell them for scrap metal. All proceeds go to the Hays County Food Bank.
